The client loved this scene, as
it reminded her of the summer
days she used to spend here with
her children.  However, as the
painting would be the first
thing she saw every morning,
she preferred to have a
brighter start to her day.  Also,
she needed the painting to be
larger than the original
16 x 20 I had painted.  And
finally, she wanted to include
the sunny yellow flowers and
cattails that often grow beside
the marsh.

On my computer, we browsed
through my collection*
of over 2000 images of
St Simons Island, and settled
on this day-break photo as our
starting point.  Whitening the
clouds and making the sky
above them blue, completed
her quest for the perfect summer
morning.
The second photo includes the
yellow flowers she loves.

This is our final result - the
original scene, minus the
cloudy day, large enough at
30" x  40" to fill the space
nicely, and also including the
yellow flowers & cattails she so
fondly remembers.  It is now
hanging in a place of
prominence where she
enjoys it every day.
